Representatives of Awarded NGO “Novi put” in the City Hall

The Mayor of Mostar, Dr. Mario Kordić, and the President of the City Council of Mostar, Salem Marić, received today at the City Hall representatives of the Association 'Novi put' from Mostar, winner of the prestigious international award for 2021 awarded by the 'Child10' Foundation from the Kingdom of Sweden for fighting against trafficking and sexual exploitation of children, as well as the Swedish Queen Silvia Awards and her ‘Child Care’ Foundation.

The President of the Association Abida Pehlić informed the Mayor Kordić and the President of the City Council Marić that 'Novi put' from Mostar is one of only ten award-winning organizations, selected from more than 90 nominations from 27 countries, and that this BiH NGO is the only one in BiH received this award and was commended for "its efforts and contribution aimed at eradicating all forms of exploitation of children and girls in BiH."

Mayor Kordić congratulated the representatives of the association "Novi put" on this exceptional award and their great engagement and perseverance.

What you are doing is a huge and noble thing and it is important for the promotion of the City of Mostar and a nice and positive signal - said Mayor Kordić and expressed hope that the City of Mostar and the Association will cooperate on specific projects and that he expects guidance from them, and that they will have support from him personally, as well as from the City in their work.

The President of the City Council, Marić, said that today's reception was a sign of support for their work and the promotion of a positive and noble story from Mostar, which was recognized at the European level. He pointed out that Mostar as a tourist city that has problems with begging can cooperate in this segment as well, but certainly protect the rights of children, and promised that they will have the support of the City Council in their work.
