Today, the mayor of Mostar Mr. Ljubo Bešlić and Head of the Delegation of European Union to BiH Mr. Lars Gunnar Wigemark, together with the representatives of the World Bank, PIT implementing the project on the construction of wastewater treatment plant in Mostar, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry, contractor - Greek company Actor, agency SIDA and representatives of Agency for Watershed of the Adriatic Sea visited the site near the bridge Franjo Blažević, where the plant for treatment of waste water is going to be set up.
The value of the construction of the main sewage collector and waste water treatment plant is more than 23 million BAM, and the funds are provided through the GEF project, and with the support from the Swedish development agency SIDA and the European Commission.
The realisation of this project is of great importance for the city of Mostar, but according to the current schedule of works that deadline could be breached. Therefore, the contractors, during today's visit to the site, promised that they would make further efforts to get the project completed by the end of October this year.
With the construction of wastewater treatment plant, alongside the sewage collectors are being constructed which will ultimately constitute one whole. The main objective of the construction of river bank collectors in Mostar is sewage collection and its removal to the device for treatment of waste water. This project is rated as the most important project in the history of Mostar in this area, and will solve the problem of waste water in the city.
