Opening of Mujaga Komadina’s Shop
By ceremonial cutting ribbon Mayor of Mostar Mr. Ljubo Bešlić and Deputy State Minister of Civil Affairs Mr. Đorđe Miličević last night in old town of Mostar opened renewed shop of legendary Mostar mayor Mujaga Komadina, which was built in 1883.
Komadina was mayor of Mostar from 1909 to 1918 and in that time he put all his potential in the service of the prosperity of this city. Therefore, opening the door to his former 'storeroom' had a special symbolic welcome for all people.
The event was attended by many high-ranking officials, Director General of UNESCO Ms.Irina Bokova, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Mladen Ivanić and BiH Presidency member Mr. Bakir Izetbegović.
"I want to congratulate Bešlić for the reconstruction of this building. We assume that there are more such facilities in the city. This is a good example of how Bosnia and Herzegovina and UNESCO are working together on such projects," said Bokova, after the opening ceremony.
The reconstruction of this store cost about 60,000 marks, and Mayor of Mostar, Mr. Ljubo Bešlić, announced that there are still in plan a number of reconstruction projects in the city center.
