The 10th Anniversary of the Inscription of the Old Bridge on the UNESCO World Heritage List

Due to the manifestation called "The 10th Anniversary of the Inscription of the Old Bridge Area of the Old City of Mostar on the UNESCO World Heritage List" which is going to be held on July 3 and July 4, 2015 in Mostar City Hall, today the press conference was held in order to present the programme of the manifestation.

Officially the Old Bridge Area of the Old City of Mostar was put on the UNESCO World Heritage List on July 15, 2005, as the first monument from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Decision was reached on Experts Session of UNESCO Board, held from July 11 until July 17, 2005, in Durban, South African Republic.

It is planned for the Manifestation to start in the morning of July 3, with the Conference "Historic Urban Landscapes" in the City Hall, where different experts will discuss the protection of urban heritage, improving of city infrastructure, and presentation of studies done by ICOMOS and conclusions and recommendations adopted.

Opening of Mujaga Komadina’s Shop, the object built in stone and which reconstruction was financed by the City of Mostar, is planned for the afternoon.

On the same day, at 10 p.m. at the plateau under the Old Bridge, the concert called ″The Bridge Embracing the River Banks″ will be held, with the performance of Mostar Symphonic Orchestra and Ana Rucner, the soloist.

As foreseen in the program, the audience will be addressed by UNESCO Director General Ms. Irina Bokova, the host, Mayor Mr. Ljubo Bešlić and Mladen Ivanić, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is the sponsor of the event.

On July 4, 2015, there will be a concerte of singer Željko Joksimović  and friends.
