Through the Interreg - IPA CBC IRENE project, the City of Mostar replaces part of the existing public lighting system

After the implementation of the public procurement and the selection of the best contractor, today the City Hall of the City of Mostar has signed a contract with Elko-Marić d.o.o. Mostar from Mostar on carrying out works on the project of reconstruction or replacement of existing light pillars and lamps with new (aluminum) pillars and lamps with energy-efficient LED technology. The project will be carried out in the streets of Archbishop Čule (from the Cathedral) and Kralja Tomislava (to the top of Avenue), and the BNR / Croatian Defenders street (from the Lučki bridge) to the Spanish Square (roundabout).

Throughout the project, a total of 164 lamps will be replaced (existing inefficient and high-pressure jet based lamps and high-pressure sodium high-pressure lamps), with a installed power output of 49,376 kW and an annual consumption of 202,441.6 kWh. There will be 98 new pillars and 322 LEDs lamps installed.

With the completion of the project implementation, the total installed power of the system with a standard coefficient will be 23,184 kW, and the consumption will amount to a maximum of 95,054.4 kWh per year.

The value of the signed contract for the reconstruction of this part of public lighting is BAM 487,139.71 and the total planned annual savings is around BAM 50,000.00 by significantly improving the quality of the public lighting service and significant savings will be made to maintain that part of the system public lighting of the City of Mostar. The contract duration is 45 days.

The IRENE project is being implemented under the Interreg IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Program Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro: Environmental Protection and Biodiversity, Improved Risk Prevention and the Promotion of Sustainable Energy and Energy Efficiency. The specific objective of the project is to promote the use of renewable energy sources, stimulate energy efficiency.

Implementation of the project started on 01.07.2017. until 31.12.2019. years. The total value of the project is 1.915.820,00 EUR, of which EUR 1.628.447,00 is co-financed by the European Union.

Project promoter is Zadar Development Agency ZADRA NOVA, and partners in the project are Zadar County of Croatia, Eco Center Delfin and Tivat Municipality from Montenegro and Association for Economic Development REDAH and the CITY OF MOSTAR from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
